Nice ride in Ootmarsum

I was finally able to start at a national show in Ootmarsum after two weeks of compulsory rehabilitation following surgical removal of a little bone splinter from my knee (luckily inheritable!). This is a great show to compete in as the condition of the footing is great and the show itself is well organised by the ‘Bergruiters’. The day started in the M (1.20mtr) competition in which I was able to win the first prize with Al Capone: after a clear first round, he had a second clear round in the jump-off, in which he was very eager and motivated and easy to ride. It was obvious that Al Capone enjoyed the start of the outdoor season!

The weather was good; it was sunny and dry for the entire day except for one shower. It was unfortunate that Clintino had to jump during this one single shower, but despite the rain, he had an easy round in the 1.30mtr which resulted in two clear rounds and a third price in this class of Z(1.30mtr) and ZZ(1.35mtr) combined. An excellent debute for Clinitino in Z! Coursy also had an excellent first round in the Z without any knock-downs. However, we decided not to start Coursy in the jump-off, because of time constraints with the other ZZ horse Callisto. Callisto ended up fifth in the combined Z and ZZ class (0/4). All in all, it has been a great and very rewarding day!
